a meditation

Prayer and reality sandwich shock

Be gentle to my journeying soul and yours
And if one day it knocks at your door
Give it the gentle reality, the soft reality of a pulsating human embrace unafraid
But should you close that simple door
That natural door
You shall not find life you shall not find love
for your gentle soul is searching like the other man’s

alas that man hardened by cumulative hurt and habit,
by treachery, betrayal and fear of more hurt incomprehensible mystified,
should close that simple door
and plunge the world into mirror-image circuits of infinite violence glorified

Be gentle to my journeying soul and yours
And if one day it knocks at your door
